Utila, Honduras

My parents were heading down to Utila which is a bay island off of the coast of Honduras. They didn't have to spend to much time convincing us to go down with them. We had a wonderful time scuba diving and spending Charlie's 3rd Birthday. This is the small charter plane that we took to get out to the island once we got to San Pedro. We were sitting right behind the pilot... and I don't mean behind the cockpit doors.... I mean right behind the pilot looking out the same front window he was. Approaching the island. This is a small little Cay that is covered with houses, please note this for future pictures of us exploring this amazing little Cay. My parents have been very good friends with a wonderful Utilian family since the 70's when my dad was in the peace corp. They now own a small and beautiful resort that we were able to stay at, they were beyond hospitable. And we loved every moment that we got to spend with them. This is the view from our bedroom.... pretty ...

good to know

In the car ride home tonight Charlie: mama, my daddy loves me. Me: Yep, he loves you very much! Charlie: mama, my daddy protects me. Me: "yep".... (pause thinking about why she might know what protects means...) "Who does he protect you from?" Charlie: "the Gorillas" The St Louis Zoo might need to look into those pesky Gorillas.

President's day

Jacob was meeting some of his students on the Loop to watch some short films for a class, and since it was Presidents day Charlie and I joined him. Well we didn't join him for the films (boring....) we joined him for lunch and a long walk, a "city hike" if you will. This picture below is actually where Jacob and I had our first date, and where he asked me to marry him... awww history.

Winter Camp fires

I love campfires in the winter. LOVE IT!! Seriously is there anything more snugly than a fire and a daddy? Its also pretty nice when they are just in your backyard so when you get too cold you can run into your heated house and warm up the cocoa in the microwave.

time out

Puppy got in trouble today. In her "let him have it tone" Charlie proclaimed: "Puppy you go to time out, your time out is in the backyard." She then continued her explanation with "Charlie's time out is in the kitchen, Daddy's time out is in the office" and then my favorite part... "mommy doesn't have a timeout." It's cause I'm perfect
