Picture Day

We took our two year old pictures this past weekend. Thought I would share (aka. illegally scan and then post on the internet). This bottom one is of Charlie in her dress from her Aunt Becky who lives in China.

Nana's here

Nana came out to visit us for the week. We had a wonderful time playing in our kitchen, reading books, coloring and just having fun. She even got to stay until Charlie's birthday which was wonderful for Charlie and perfect for me (cause I had an extra hand). I read somewhere that there is 2 kinds of "help" when you have kids. There is the I will play with the kid so that you can do the housework.... and then there is the I will do the laundry, clean the floors and wash the dishes so that you can play with your kid. I am very fortunate that my mom is the perfection of the 2nd. She can stay for over a week, and we love it! In fact as Jacob said "The only rough part about having my mother-in-law stay for a week is that I cant walk around in my underwear.".

Charlotte is 2 years old!

We had a few friends from our old and new bible study over for Charlie's 2nd birthday party! The theme was Veggie tales so everyone got to make a Larry out of a cucumber and whatever I could find at Hobby Lobby. We had Charlie's favorite... Pizza and wings. Which also turned out to be my favorite, because we just had to order it from down the street. We also had Cheesy Puffs (for those hard-core Veggie tale fans... you get it) And then I was inducted into the world of motherhood, with making my first themed kid birthday cake. It is Bob the Tomato and the cupcakes are the French Peas. Thank you so much to all of our friends that came to celebrate with us. And on a personal note I seriously can not believe for a second that she is already 2 years old. WHAT IN THE WORLD!!!! She has the same crazy fire in her today that she had when she was 2 days old (the 1st day she slept). I pray that I never take a part in quenching that fire.

Valentines smile

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!!! This is our "new smile" that we just started when the camera comes out. At first I seriously thought she was pooping... but nope... just trying to give her best for the camera. Then just before I said something, I thought who am I to tell her how to take a good picture? Plus when she turns 16 and is scowling into the camera I am going to long for these days. Smile away Charlie... Mommy loves you just the way you are!!!

Snow Day!

Charlie and I had a snow day on Friday when St. Louis finally got some snow to be proud of. It worked out very nicely as this weekend Grammy and Baba came down to help us celebrate Jakes birthday. We had a great time in the snow. There were walks... talks... rides.... (she looks like she is having fun right.... she's not, she hated it) cuddles... and cocoas.... without a doubt the best part about playing outside in the snow. Coming in and drinking some warm cocoa. She could not even believe that I had been keeping something so amazing from her until now. Someday I will break out the mini marsh mallows and blow her world away... all in good time.
