Post wedding we headed for the mountains. We wanted an adventure with our girls and figured the quickest way to do that would be to sleep in a tent at 11,000 feet. They are Viking babies, don't worry they thrive in the elements.
While in Aspen Charlotte and Jake went up the gondolas to see what she could see... but all that she could see... ... was the other side of the mountain (the other side of the mountain... the other side of the mountain...was all that she could see.) anyway it was pretty.
We drove up the mountains as well to get to the continental divide. As you can see Charlotte is having an awesome time. my mountain man This was our campsite (Sarah- do these tents look familiar? you gave them to us for our wedding 11 years ago...) and here is the view from our site... not so shabby Lord. My mom and dad joined our happy little camping party. my brother Adam and Leah and the cousins, making a mighty clan. Behind our site was this little wooded area. The kids built a rock fort to fight off the bears. They clearly have been misinformed regarding the size of a bear.
Then there were the s'mores of which Charlotte had been asking about for the past 2 months. I will not admit publicly to how many I let her eat. There was also the dirt. Yes, there were wipes that could have taken care of this, but we were camping. I felt it was part of the right of passage.
Hanging out at the site with Charlotte in the hammock.

It was stinkin' cold in the morning. 27 degrees one morning, that's 27 degrees Fahrenheit as in water no longer flowed. It was cold. But I woke up next to this cute little bear, can you imagine anything cuter to snuggle up too? So that is exactly what we did.

(coats can be confusing when you are at high altitudes- don't judge.)
