Lovin Charlie

Last weekend was a little rough for us. We found some news that was a little hard to stomach. So we decided to have a family day... We had lunch at Forest park and then spent some time in the zoo. Before you know it being outside with our little family and the trusted assurance that God is 100% in control of even this situation, we felt nothing but blessed. Look at this face! How can we not just be grateful for everything we have been given. Can you see her legs? We were on the train and I had my legs crossed. I looked down and saw that Charlie was doing exactly what I was doing. I mean really child...your killing me. More than the fact that she is the height of a river otter, the fact that she is already 3 feet really surprised me! She is growing so fast!

obama

We heard on the news that Obama was coming to St. Louis. Without any previous plans and knowing it was going to be a beautiful day we got in the car and headed down to see what we could see. Well we saw 100,000 people, one of which is running for president. It was an experience I know that I wont forget. Partly due to his great speech but really more due to the huge amounts of people. Such a multitude of different backgrounds, race, wealth, education, age, even a huge sign that said "REDNECKS FOR OBAMA!"... I don't think I had ever been in a crowd that was that diverse. All excited, all hopeful, all ready to come together. I know that this is far from a political blog, and I am not trying to make a statement here. But it was amazing. Can you see us? We are about 1/4 of the way back. Charlie thought it was fun. She obviously didn't get what was going on, but she loved her new Obama button. In fact I am pretty sure she thinks that the word "Obama" m...

cousins...

We got a fun surprise when my brother Scott and SIL Jenn were coming through St. Louis and stopped to visit us. Charlie loved playing with her cousin A and meeting her newest cousin J. They were such big kids sitting at their own table. Nana would have been proud. After about 30 attempts this is the best picture that I got. My camera was on the wrong setting... it was past bedtime... it just wasn't working. But here is the attempt. The 2 of them spent a lot of time in the kitchen bringing everyone treats that they were making. Thank you so much for stopping by. I know it was short but we really enjoyed seeing you guys!

Chucky Cheese

Jacob's parents came down to see us 2 weekends ago. It was their birthday so we decided to celebrate at Chucky Cheese. Charlie loved it. When I say loved it, I mean she could not get enough. I don't know if she had seen commercials, heard friends talk about it, or if just the chessy magic was in the air... she was a giddy excited mess. Lovin' the pizza and the grandparents This was one of her favorite rides. Jacob is extremely good at skee ball. I mean if there was a professional skee ball league, the Amundson's would be doing well. Charlie however hit the basketball game to the left of the track... maybe someday. riding on the merry go round She thought Chucky was a rock star. At one point a version of Chucky came down to meet the kids. Charlie and I went to go meet him, she ran up behind him and literally kissed his butt, then ran away as fast as she could, shaking with excitement. again... I have no idea. The prize she picked out for all of our tickets. Yep...

Pumpkin Patch

Fall is here. We headed to the Pumpkin Patch with the Mohrs and Carrie for our annual get excited for chilly weather event. When I say annual I can now refer you to a previous post since I have been blogging for a full year now! (Happy Birthday Blog!) Thought I would just leave you with pictures.
